和書荒野へ (集英社文庫)を先に読んでいたのですが、クリスの残した手紙や、数多くの有名な著者の残した一文、訳す前の地名など、当事者たちの世界観をしりたくて洋書を買いました。和書では日本人のために大まかな地図が載せられていましたが、洋書は地形が分かるようになっています(地図のページ数は同じくらい）。 Into the Wildを語るには欠かせない一冊だと思うし、欲しかった分、買って満足です。
